St. Croix Regional Family Health Center is pleased to announce that Executive Director Cori LaPlant has been recognized and awarded the 2022 General Excellence Award from the Maine Primary Care Association.
The General Excellence Award is presented to an individual, clinician or care team member who models the highest standards of care for the underserved, reaches high standards of quality care, adopts and advances innovations as part of the primary care team, promotes greater access, and demonstrates leadership to advance access for all.
LaPlant credits her dedicated staff as a reason for the award. As the executive director of a small community health center, she witnesses each day the tireless work of St. Croix Regional Family Health Center’s staff who provide outstanding care to patients in our community.
“Our staff members never miss an opportunity to deliver the highest quality of care and customer service,” said LaPlant. “While sometimes it’s challenging, sometimes frustrating, sometimes heartbreaking, it is always rewarding. These awards are not won in a silo, it is a group effort, so this award belongs to my staff as well.”
Maine’s Community Health Centers are filled with remarkably talented and selfless individuals who serve their communities with dedication and pride, and this year’s award recipients have continued to show their commitment and passion in the face of challenges no one could have predicted, said Darcy Shargo, CEO, Maine Primary Care Association.
The award was presented at the Maine Primary Care Association annual conference in October.
